Recycle TI GaN Motor Drivers:GaN Intelligent Power Module,GaN Half-Bridge Driver
Shenzhen Mingjiada Electronics Co., Ltd., as a leading enterprise in the electronic component recycling industry, provides comprehensive recycling solutions through professional services, highly competitive prices and integrity in business operations.
Thanks to characteristics such as zero reverse recovery charge, low parasitic capacitance and high switching speeds, gallium nitride (GaN) is reshaping motor drive solutions. It is particularly well-suited to applications with stringent requirements for size, response speed and energy efficiency, such as joint motors for humanoid robots, industrial servos, 48V low-voltage servos and drone power drives. TI’s GaN Intelligent Power Modules (GaN IPMs) and integrated GaN half-bridge drivers combine GaN power transistors, gate drivers, protection circuits and bootstrap circuits into a single package, significantly lowering the design barrier for high-frequency motor drives. Unlike traditional discrete silicon MOSFET and IGBT solutions, they offer outstanding advantages in terms of power density, dynamic response and thermal performance.
TI’s GaN half-bridge drivers are integrated power stage devices; typical models include the LMG2100R026, LMG2104R022, DRV7163, DRV7167 and LMG2656, catering to different voltage platforms. The 100V series is commonly used in 48V joint motors for humanoid robots, whilst the 650V series is designed for industrial variable-frequency drives and main drives in household appliances. The devices integrate upper and lower bridge GaN FETs, gate drivers, bootstrap transistors and level-shifting circuits internally. They utilise an optimised, bond-wire-free package to minimise loop parasitic inductance and support independent slew rate adjustment, enabling engineers to effectively control EMI and switching ringing. They feature built-in cycle-by-cycle short-circuit protection, overtemperature protection, under-voltage lockout, VDS monitoring and interlock anti-through logic. Some models support zero-voltage detection (ZVD) and ideal diode mode, making them suitable for soft-switching motor control algorithms. Dead-time can be configured via resistors or an independent input mode. It is compatible with 3.3V and 5V master logic levels and can interface directly with real-time control MCUs such as the TI AM261x series, enabling the creation of compact servo drive units. Under high-frequency operating conditions of 100 kHz, power loss is reduced by up to 50 per cent compared to silicon solutions, whilst PCB footprint can be reduced by more than half. Texas Instruments.
TI’s GaN Intelligent Power Module (GaN IPM) builds upon the half-bridge design by further integrating multi-phase bridge arms, current sampling, temperature sensing and fault output interfaces, targeting integrated drives for three-phase brushless motors. It integrates three-phase GaN power stages, drivers, protection and sampling functions within a single module, reducing the number of external components and minimising the risk of crosstalk associated with multi-bridge layouts. It is suitable for compact servo systems, robotic joints and power control in mobile platforms. The module features built-in precise current feedback and supports Field-Oriented Control (FOC). The integrated thermal detection signal is fed directly back to the main controller, facilitating active power-reduction protection. Compared to traditional silicon-based IPMs, GaN IPMs offer lower switching losses, lower temperature rise during sustained high-frequency operation, support for higher carrier frequencies, lower torque ripple in motor control, and faster dynamic response, making them the preferred choice for high-density motor controllers.
The application positioning of these two types of devices is clear: GaN half-bridge drivers offer greater flexibility, allowing engineers to independently configure single-phase, two-phase or three-phase drive topologies, making them suitable for customised development; GaN smart power modules feature higher integration, shortening hardware development cycles, and are better suited to standardised mass-production projects for servo and joint drives. On the supply chain side, TI GaN power devices have high market entry barriers, and market prices fluctuate in line with demand from the robotics and industrial automation sectors. Factory project redesigns, solution iterations and order cancellations frequently result in idle stock of brand-new, original GaN half-bridge drivers and GaN IPMs. Mingjiada Electronics provides professional recycling services for this type of TI power semiconductor stock, whilst also supplying brand-new, original TI GaN half-bridge drivers and intelligent power modules to meet the component requirements of motor drive projects in industrial and humanoid robotics.

[Mingjiada Electronics Recycling Process]
Mingjiada Electronics accepts idle stock of electronic components that are brand-new, original, with original labels and packaging, and in intact anti-static vacuum packaging. We do not accept components removed from circuit boards, refurbished devices, items with cosmetic damage, or materials affected by moisture or oxidation. Supplies are limited to compliant stock held by authorised distributors, end-user factories and legitimate traders. The entire process is standardised and confidential; customer BOMs and project material information are not disclosed at any stage.
Step 1: Sorting of materials and submission of the inventory list. The client first categorises and organises the inventory by part number, compiles a list, and clearly indicates the full part number, brand, batch code, production date, quantity, packaging condition and whether the items are in their original vacuum packaging. This list is then sent to Mingjiada’s evaluation team via email or an online form.
Step 2: Technical assessment and quotation. The assessment team will verify the materials based on market conditions, part scarcity, expiry dates and packaging integrity, and provide a buy-back quotation within 24 hours; scarce parts may be subject to a premium valuation.
Step 3: Sample Verification and Transaction Confirmation. Once both parties have agreed on the quotation, the customer may dispatch samples, or Mingjiada may arrange for staff to visit the premises to inspect the goods. The authenticity of the devices is verified through label checks, visual inspections and random X-ray sampling. The parties then negotiate the terms of the transaction and sign a recycling agreement.
Step 4: Inspection, handover and payment settlement. Following a full inspection on-site or at the warehouse, the handover of materials is completed. We support multi-currency settlement via corporate or personal accounts, with full payment made within 24–48 hours of successful inspection.
Additional Information
Mingjiada Electronics operates both a supply and a buy-back business. On the supply side, we can provide in-stock components of specific models, supporting both small-batch prototyping and bulk project supply; on the buy-back side, we continuously purchase surplus components from factories, helping customers to quickly clear dead stock and recover cash flow.
